Stellantis Unleashes Language Learning Revolution: Over 40,000 Employees Embrace Speexx for Global Communication
Stellantis joined forces with Speexx to deliver language training to its global workforce of nearly 80,000 white-collar employees. With over 40,000 active users, including complete beginners, the partnership achieved remarkable participation and engagement rates. Built on trust, transparency, and a commitment to user-friendliness, this collaboration sets the stage for ongoing success.
About
When speaking about a global automotive corporation, Stellantis is the name that comes to mind. Being at the forefront of shaping the future of sustainable mobility technology, the firm is a constellation of 14 renowned brands, including Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep®, Lancia, Maserati, Opel, Peugeot, and two mobility brands (Free2move and Leasys).
With a commitment to diversity, Stellantis boasts a global workforce of over 270,000 employees from 160 countries. Stellantis’ commitment to diversity was a major motivation for offering its workforce global training. Following the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FSA) and the French PSA Group in 2021 and after the success of the Working from Home initiative in the pandemic, Speexx participated in Stellantis’ Request for Proposal (RFP).
“We are delighted to have Speexx as our global language provider, the platform goes beyond digital, it has enabled our employees to learn different languages in diverse ways, created a truly inclusive learning environment and unique experience for everyone across the globe!”
Challenge
Stellantis sought a single provider capable of offering language training in English (the company’s language), French, German, Spanish, Brazilian-Portuguese and Italian to its vast global population of nearly 80,000 white-collar employees. Moreover, Stellantis was in search of a supplier capable of catering to individuals from diverse professional backgrounds, encompassing both white-collar and blue-collar workers. Speexx adeptly engaged learners across the spectrum, while maintaining adherence to WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
User-friendliness remained paramount. Furthermore, due to not having a global corporate Learning Management System (LMS), it was vital for Stellantis’ learners to access Speexx through seamless single sign-on (SSO) integration via a tailor-made portal.
Solution
Speexx tackled Stellantis’ pivotal challenge of democratizing training across the entire organization through a comprehensive language learning program for all. Accessible to the entire workforce, the program combined self-study with interactive group sessions and continuous learning.
Speexx developed an additional bespoke service to cater to specific user segments, which consisted of personalized activities and 1:1 sessions with a dedicated coach. User experience was of paramount importance, offering simple login process, customized multilanguage registration pages, infographics, and mobile learning tools to enhance learner enthusiasm.
Speexx supported Stellantis with marketing and engagement activities which resulted in an impressive 50% penetration rate.
Outcome
Thanks to a multinational partnership bolstered by strategic hubs across Stellantis’ key locations, Stellantis’ implementation of Speexx led to 40,000 users connecting to the platform. Notably, Speexx’s assessment tool now features in Stellantis’ recruitment process.
Additionally, Speexx and Stellantis collaborated on the Funded FNE program (Fonds National de L’Emploi), an intensive four-month learning initiative in which 80% of users invested more than 18 hours in learning with Speexx. Stellantis’ Global Learning Division exceeded its initial targets, with a substantial number of English learners connecting to the platform.
Outlook
Moving ahead, Stellantis and Speexx are jointly working on extending Speexx to family and friends of Stellantis’ learners. Both Speexx and Stellantis aim to deepen local collaboration, enhance regional relations, and foster growth and adoption of the Speexx learning platform. This partnership exemplifies a true win-win situation and effective cross-functional team collaboration.
