Tradebe Scales Language Training and Drives Flexibility with Speexx 1:1 Classes
Tradebe Environmental Services is a leading international company specializing in recycling, energy recovery, and the circular economy. It sustainably manages diverse environmental responsibilities, helping organizations meet their sustainability goals while ensuring innovative and efficient solutions.
About
Tradebe, a Spanish leader in industrial and environmental waste management, provides sustainable solutions for industrial cleaning and water treatment. For more than four decades, the company has built a reputation for excellence and is distinguished by its strong commitment to sustainability and innovation. Tradebe employs over 2,800 professionals and operates globally, offering environmentally responsible solutions that support organizations in achieving their sustainability goals.
In 2023, Tradebe launched a pilot project with Speexx, starting with 10 licenses. The initiative aimed to assess how Speexx language training platform compared to the company’s previous provider. The pilot was part of Tradebe’s broader efforts to enhance its workforce’s skills in alignment with its strategic and operational needs.
Challenge
The partnership was established to address Tradebe’s need for a platform with greater flexibility for individual sessions. Before partnering with Speexx, Tradebe’s language training lacked the scheduling flexibility required for such sessions. Speexx also provided the ability to tailor training content, ensuring that program topics aligned closely with Tradebe’s specific work context and staff needs. This was evident in the topics selected by users, with “Environment & Sustainability” emerging as the most popular choice.
As an international company, Tradebe recognizes the vital role of language skills in talent development. In our ongoing pursuit of continuous improvement, we rely on Speexx—an intuitive platform that provides detailed progress tracking for each user and customizes content to meet our specific needs.
Solution
With Tradebe’s focus on enhancing oral communication skills, individual sessions became a key element of their language training. Speexx facilitated these sessions through its premium Expert Pro licenses, delivering personalized and impactful learning experiences. The project was initiated as a competitive evaluation alongside Tradebe’s longstanding language provider, with whom they had partnered for many years.
Speexx successfully facilitated more than four individual sessions—per user, per month—during the initial training phase. This accomplishment showcased the commitment of Tradebe’s staff, who actively participated from the outset to achieve their goals and improve their foreign language skills.
Outcome
The first year of training delivered highly positive results, evidenced by the project’s growth from a pilot with 10 licenses to 85 active licenses. All users achieved the goal of completing more than four virtual sessions per month, with an average of 31 individual sessions per user annually. Most Tradebe users exceeded Speexx typical training averages, dedicating 3 to 10 hours per month.
The success was largely attributed to the project’s initial focus on flexibility, enabling staff to plan their training effectively while meeting demanding objectives. Additionally, the proactive support from Speexx Customer Success Management team was highly appreciated by Tradebe, playing a crucial role in helping users complete their training goals.
Outlook
Future efforts will focus on securing a 100% subsidy from Fundae (the public organization in Spain that evaluates and finances corporate training programs) for Tradebe’s training with Speexx. This will involve consistent monitoring of training progress and ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements by the Speexx Customer Success Management team and Tradebe’s HR team. Additionally, there are plans to expand the success of the project in Spain to other countries where Tradebe operates, leveraging its globally distributed workforce to enhance the impact of its training initiatives.
